“ In the vein of Anthony Bourdain, we decided to stop at what can only be described as a quintessential hole-in-the-wall. You could easily walk by Please-U and never realize it was there - but it would be your mistake. Seriously one of the best po boys I've ever had. ”
“ Yesterday I stumbled across this wonderful restaurant after an unpleasant experience a couple of blocks away at another restaurant that was recommended. Often times we always take to social media to mention our bad experiences, but I wanted to make sure I spoke on the outstanding experience I had with this restaurant for breakfast. I walked directly past it on my way to the recommended restaurant and as oddly, as it may sound, I’m thankful for the bad experience at the recommended restaurant because it was that experience that allowed me to stumble across this gem. Service was impeccable, and the food was outstanding. It was so great that I also purchased a takeout order to take back to my hotel. The restaurant gave me the old home diner experience, which was very welcoming. Much thanks goes to the locals who saw me viewing the menu on the outside as I walked from the unpleasant experience at the first restaurant I attempted to visit. Hidden gems are God-sent! I will definitely list this on my restaurants to revisit when in New Orleans. ”
“ I really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich and the wonderful service that I got here last December while my wife was recovering from surgery at a nearby hospital. I was reminded about it while watching Hit Man on Netflix today. There's a whole scene in the restaurant and it made me happy! ”
“ Typical dive restaurant in St Charles, on a lark I gave it a try. Did the half sandwich combination and cup of gumbo as a first-time vistor to gage the kitchen staff. Was surprisingly impressed seafood gumbo was good, despite the thin look and had great flavor. For a half sandwich seemed to duplicate itself between the kitchen and service counter, and was awesome. Recommended for a good ole Nola staple meal. Sweet tea was good and lemon for my beverage. Counter service was a little slow at checkout, and the bad orange hair dye did nothing but play on her phone, causing the holdup. This was the only pitfall for a surprisingly great lunch. I will return, even with the dated atmosphere and all. ”
“ Savory and satisfying. Attentive staff! So glad we tried it out while on our trip to New Orleans! ”
“ Very Fun and Tasty, reasonably priced New Orleans favorites in a charming little spot off the beaten path. I particularly like their Red Beans and Rice. ”
“ Homemade food and was so good. Very welcoming family and waitstaff. Place is small but well worth trying. Will not disappoint. Sorry for pictures but couldn’t wait and the one picture shows we cleaned the plates lol ”
“ An amazing family dinner, classic home soul food. Any kind of food you may want. They make homemade biscuits, breakfast served all day from 7am til 3PM. When you arrive you may see many well known local artists, and influencers of the city eating here. Come enjoy some Greek Nola style dinner food. Great prices too! ”
